Virtual Healthcare Planning with Interactive Product Configurator from Infotiv

Fagerhult has a large number of fixture solutions for lighting and instrumentation for operating rooms. Examples include IR panels, dialysis fixtures, ceiling access for power- and gas supply as well as fixtures for shelving, medical equipment, examination lighting, IV holders etc.

To be able to demonstrate such as vast number of products and configurations in a real hospital environment is practically not possible. Fagerhult´s sales people needed a visual sales tool where both the products and the environment could be adapted to customer needs and existing products already in use.

Fagerhult chose an interactive 3D product configurator with a web based front end from Infotiv.

Aim & Scope


The sales tool needed to be interactive, so the sales person could work together with the customer to create a proposal based on existing requirements.

Method & Features


Infotiv delivered an interactive visual sales support system in order to streamline the sales and decision making process. The system allows configuration of a room with equipment exactly per the customer´s requirements. The sales person and the customer run the system together on a laptop via a web based interface with among other things the following key features:

• Select room dimensions • Place products inside the room • Add options depending on base product • Add reference objects as e.g. beds and staff • Perform a check so collision does not occur • Save and print the final configuration

Conclusions & Further Developments

The system is in use by Fagerhult´s sales organization in Scandinavia and the U.K. in order to improve their sales process.
