Digital Time-Travels: Archeology of the Digital Age
This project is primarily concerned with the development, testing and evaluation of new, digital forms of mediation, demonstration and visualization of archaeological and culture-historical information and results. The work aims at providing museums and institutions working within the domain of Cultural Heritage Management a means by which to meet public interest in archaeological results and fascination with historical problems. The overall organization of the project involves three interrelated modules, which are designed
- The first module covers topics related to the ways in which Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management have come to integrate digital and computer based procedures and standards into their operational sphere. - The second module aims to develop new methods and practices for the presentation, mediation and the publication of archaeological data and information. This work is particularly focused on the participation of museums and institutions from the general sector, as well as the public at large. - The third module involves the more specific elaboration of digital tools for the management, preparation and application of digital methods for communicating archaeological information and theories.
