Crossover Nordic
Between the15-19 th September 2008 twenty one creators from the industries of game, movies, TV, mobile and new media from the Nordic Countries took part in a five-day residential laboratory designed to develop innovative crossover platforms projects. They met at Orust on the Swedish West Cost to explore the creative and commercial challenges of developing new content and services for digital delivery in a commissioning world.
The media lab was directed by the world leading manor Frank Boyed of Unexepted Media and BBC innovation lab, and Heather Croall of Doc/Fest, and a number of international experts and a number of commissioning editors visited the event.
During the five days the participants were collaborating in different creative formats to brainstorm new ideas to increase innovative digital and interactive projects that promotes the growth of broad bands and new platforms. Together during the week they came up with a total of seventy ideas, that in the end resulted in six final ideas that were presented to the different financiers. The final resulted in a pitch to a panel of commissioners from different media areas that took place at the Financial Forum, Nordic Panorama 5 City Film Festival on the 28th of September 2008. The winning pitch of this year was Andreas Öhman and Maria Ahlin with their project Our Secret Society that received the Crossover development prize of 100 000 SEK.
